It's Friday at the office and it's CPC day, I got here at nine and was dangerously close to calling in sick as I walked to the metro. I was entertained by the weather, grey and clammy... tropical. I imagined that leafy green plants would overtake all the buildings in D.C. great huge trunks breaking those fragile buildings and then we'd hear the birds. I'm glad I made it to work though... there are times when time stops and I can see each minute crawling. Yesterday I was talking to yet another co-worker who is in the process of applying for another job (who isn't looking?) and we talked about the fact that the avergae worker's age here is probably 55 and chuckled. My boss seems to think I love it here, he seems to be proud of me for some reason, maybe because I'm a good worker. I mess around with the other schoalrs but at the end of the day I get my shite done. Frankly, one needs a break from the FILES, files! Cases! I'll try to apply to two jobs per week, I'm bound to hear from some place. The State Dept. had four openings "Foreign Affairs Specialist" and it sounds infinatemente more fun that here. I should take pictures of this place and HERNDON... where the actual office is... it's death! Death I tell you! I'd rather be doing anything in D.C. because for all its faults D.C. is life!
So yesterday I met the mother-in-law (heehee) and was nervous most of the day. The work-day was interminable y yo tan nervioso... I think the meeting went well. The four of us went and got some Italian food at Sette (not Tomate, that would have rocked but you usually need reservations at night). We're set for a tour tonight and the Holocaust Museum tomorrow. At some point we wanna go dancing, or is it just me? No, no the boy can dance so I'm sure he wants to.
I'm sustained my bliss for two months now with no end in sight! Maybe that's why I stopped most entries, you really have so so so little to say when every other word is love this love that... Dammit I used to be interesting, f'ed up, etc.
